Torment tides of numenera forum1/27/2024 I hope they'll fix this in the full game. The problem is, that the game does not explain the mechanics very well. Thanks, much appreciated! I'm glad to be part of the beta. So, "Extra Effort" means more circles to reduce difficulty. Drawback is that the skill only applies in certain situations while you can apply Effort to any roll. So, is it better to choose Extra Effort or to level up a skill(Persuasion)? Probably raising the skill - each level of a skill reduces the difficulty of associated rolls by one step but, unlike Effort, you won't have to spend points from one of your Pools for the benefit. ![]() I'm not sure if you can make Effort free by having a high enough Edge or not, though. With Effort 2, you could reduce it by two steps.Įffort costs you 3 points from the respective pool while your Edge for that pool reduces the cost (so if you want to spend one level of Effort on a Might roll, it would normally cost three points from your Might Pool, but if you have Might Edge 1 then it only costs 2 points of Might). Originally posted by B'oh ShadowFighter88:It lets you apply more effort to dice rolls - you know that metre that comes up where you can choose to spend points from one of your pools to make a roll easier? Effort is how many times you can reduce the difficulty of a roll - you start with Effort 1 so you can only reduce a roll's difficulty by one step.
